Chris's Pictorial Chocolate Chip Biscotti
Yield : 22 thinly cut biscotti
Step One
Gather all Ingredients
-1 pouch sugar cookie mix -1/3 cup of butter, softened -1 egg -1/4 cup all purpose flour -1/2 cup toasted chopped almonds -1/2 cherry dried cranberries, coarsely chopped -2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Acquire Large Baking Sheet
Large enough for room for 2 biscotti sheets
Aquire a Large Mixing Bowl
Needs to be large enough to hold pouch with room to mix thoroughly
Cutlery Needed!
Step 2
Preheat Oven
To a precise 350 degrees
Chop Almonds
Cut up almonds into small pieces using a sharp knife
Chop Cranberries
Coarsely chop (3/16") cranberries on a cutting board with sharp knife
Step 3
The Mix
Add eggs, softened butter, and flour to the pouch of cookie mix in large mixing bowl
Mix Thoroughly!
Use large wooden spoon
Add the Flavor!
Mix in chocolate chips, almonds, and dried cranberries. Stir until evenly distributed
Step 4
Add Dough to Baking Sheet
Add dough to an ungreased baking sheet. Dough will come together quite loosely and needs to be packed together
Forming the Biscotti
Shape the dough into a 8x2" rectangle that is 1/2" tall
Ready for Cooking
Form the two bars with enough room to expand while cooking
IMPORTANT! Read Carefully
Post-Cooling Biscotti
Biscotti should look golden brown on bottom
Cut biscotti
Cut into 3/4" slices and place slices, cut side down, on baking sheet and put back into oven
Twice Baked!
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, turning once, or until biscotti is crisp. Remove from sheet and place on wire rack. Cool for 20 minutes
