Thutmose III
Background and Personality
Thutmose III also known as" Napoleon of Egypt" was a pharaoh who reigned from 1479 B.C to 1425 B.C. Thutmose was about ten years old when his father Thutmose II had died. Two decades his "aunt" shared power, by helping ruling the city and help, prepare military forces. . After his "aunt" had died he decided to destroying her statues, and momuments and even her temple was robbed. He tried rewmoving all records of her from the city.Thutmose had a huge family, his father had ten wives and had twelve brother and sisters. Thutmose III had nine wives and five daughters and four sons himself. He was the kind of person who was self conservative, and was to be known as a sincre man. Who was also very skilled in military but, mainly archery and horseman. Also that he was a very religious man, and very educated since he was a young boy.
Achievements
"Napolean of Ancient Egypt" was Thutmose for his military skills. From his military skills he had won the Battle of Me giddo in 1500 B.C that lasted for seven montyhs. Including forming seventeen military campaigns. Another thing he had done was make wealth in his city. From his victories of so many battles, he had conquered a miles of land for his city , expanding his city and wealth. Later in years he had built temples and other temples that where already built enlarged. Each of them gifts to the gods.
Downfall
At the end of Thutmose's last dying days, he could tell that he was weak and had no strength left. Thutmose died in 1426 B.C. He was buried in his temple that he had built previous in the years for his burial. Unfortunealty his tomb was destroyed by robbers. his valuables he was barried with were gone. His tomb was later found in the Valley of The Kings. His tomb and body was found in bad shape, all that was left was some wooden furniture. After the burial of Thumose III, Thutmose's son had taken power of the city.
