Cimarron Middle School Newsletter - December 11, 2015
Colts Chronicle provides information to parents, students, staff, and community.
Dear Cimarron Family,
We hope you all are gearing up for a safe and relaxing winter break. We are so thankful for having the opportunity to grow and learn with your students this semester as we are “Climbing To New Heights”! The growth of our students is evident each day at Cimarron.
This semester has been busy, and we have been able to accomplish many of our goals, while providing opportunities for students to grow and learn through authentic experiences. Highlights from this semester include our Veterans’ Day Celebration, performing arts concerts and plays, TSA events, hosting DCSD honor band and orchestra, eighth grade career expo. and countless successful athletic endeavors! We are looking forward to continuing this journey in 2016!
Thank you for all of the community support we have received through volunteering, attending school events such as plays and athletics, donations for classrooms this semester. This month we are especially grateful for the success of our second annual Festival of Trees event. Thank you to all of the people who volunteered to make this event possible!
January 4th marks the beginning of second semester. Students’ schedules will flip at this time. Copies of new schedules will be available to students when they arrive at school on this day.
Finally, we want to wish Francis Stringer, our Campus Monitor, congratulations on his retirement. His impact on our students and staff has been incredible, and we will miss him every day at the crosswalk and in the hallways of Cimarron Middle School!

Festival of Trees a Huge Success!
For a second time the Festival of Trees was a huge hit and success. We would like to thank all the CIMS teams, families, business community, student council and volunteers who helped make it happen. It wouldn't be a success without your continued support. The proceeds from the event will be going towards technology purchases. The Festival of Trees will be back next year so start thinking of your tree theme now. Congratulations to all the lucky winners!!!!
