My teaching is only as good as what my kids can do on their own.
What's new WMS?
Starfish of the week...
From Eldonna Warren to Jennifer Mitchell for being such a great addition to our office family-she makes me smile!
From Eric Blauvelt to Chris Noel for always being here early, is dedicated, and nice.
Thank YOU!!! Email from Mindy Coblentz (parent and WCSC Colleague)
Since the day of the Veteran's Day program at WMS, I have intended to say "Well done" to you, your staff, and your students. From my perspective, the students were composed and attentive. There were moments of solemnity and the students responded well at those times. The content of the program was fabulous and altogether well presented. Thank you! Please pass this on to whomever was involved in planning and organizing.
Safety First from Don Ritter (Facility Director)
It is the time of year that brings slips and falls. Maintenance would like to remind everyone that your personal safety is a high priority to us. Please use extreme caution this winter when entering and exiting your vehicles as well as walking on parking lots and sidewalks. Our Custodial staff does its best to prevent accidents by remove snow and salting for ice. We use extra walk off mats in entry ways and hallways as well as try to keep floor surfaces dry. Sometimes it is not possible to keep up with all the snow and it is impossible to prevent every accident. Unfortunately, with our first snow of the season we had someone fall. I have added an attachment to Illustrate safe walking habits.
Toys for Tots
Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes new toys for children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. All of the toys donated will be given to families within that county. We will be collecting toys all next week. Flyers for your Homeroom students are in your mailbox, please get the flyers to them first thing Monday. Please allow students to bring the toys to the box during Homeroom time. The box will be outside of the main/guidance office.

Teacher Gradebook Reports
There are many reasons and desires to generate a number of reports or reporting forms from Skyward. Whether it be a list of students and passwords from an individual class or a list of students and their email addresses, Skyward and you can generate these reports. Especially when you want to run the same report for all your classes, all at the same time, and having each class separated from the others.
As an example, let’s create a Report for all the students in all your classes, that lists students and their email:
Go to Skyward, Teacher Access, My Gradebook (many choices will appear and you have many reports you could generate, but let’s keep with this example)
- Go to Class Information, and click Class Roster
On the right side of the new window click “Add a new Template”
Title the template you are creating - “Student Name and Email” for our example, and Save
On this screen you will pick the information you want to appear - for our example, select “Last, First MI” and “Email and then Save
After clicking Save, you will be taken back to your Report Templates page and you will see a Report Template with the name “Student Name and Email”. If you highlight that template, and then click Print, the report that is generated is a Class Roster Report with list of student names and Email addresses for each of your class periods.
Again, this is a good tool for generating the same report for all classes, at the same time, but separated by class period.
School Safety Response #6Last week’s School Safety scenario was about seeing a fire in your trash can. The most appropriate response would be to clear your classroom and pull a fire alarm. A follow up would include contacting office personnel to let them know why and where the alarm was pulled. Do not try and take care of yourself, clear the students and go from there.
