war dove
As you can see everyone wasn't for the war. This picture shows some guys protesting to end the war in Vietnam. These men didn't see war necessary and they didn't believe that our men should be over seas fighting without a real cause.
Give peace a chance
Give peace a chance was a song wrote by John Lennon, it was a song about how he just wanted everyone to just stop war and try to give peace a chance.
Jane Fonda
This is a picture of Jane Fonda giving a speech about how it was like in Vietnam. In July 1972 while she was in Vietnam she was surrounded by soldiers and reporters, she sung an anti-war song to them.
For what?
In this picture it shows that a parents son was killed in Vietnam and they don't understand what for. Nobody really knew what they was going to fight for or why they was even going to fight. All they knew was that it was for their country and they was going to stand strong for it.
peace in Vietnam
As you can see many people didn't just want peace in the United States but also over in Vietnam. They wanted war to stop all together and they wanted everyone just to live in peace.
no more fighting
People wanted the soldiers to refuse to fight for America in Vietnam. They just wanted everyone to lay down their weapons and seize fighting.
Peace not only back at home.
It wasn't just the people back at home that wanted peace, the soldiers also wanted to be able to quit fighting and have peace, they didn't even really know why they was fighting in the first place and so they just wanted to all return home.
No more draft.
This picture shows a guy burning his draft paper, showing people that he is against the war and he will not go and fight in Vietnam. He was not the only person to do that in fact there was many others who refused to go to war.
Why I chose this topic?
I chose this topic because i am really interested in learning about how the people felt about war and how they acted towards it. I myself don't think war is necessary so I believe that what these anti-war movement people did was amazing and courageous.
