4 Tips for Parents or Teachers to Ensure Online Safety

  • Limit usage. Allow your child or students to spend time playing learning games or activities online, but only for a certain amount of time a week.
  • Keep the computer in sight. By keeping the computer in a central location, children are less likely to be found browsing sites that are inappropriate for their age and more likely to stay on track.
  • Keep your tabs. Check and recheck the browsing history, use security tools and privacy features, discuss with your children or students the importance of keeping private information private - such as phone numbers, addresses and location.
  • Talk to your kids about avoiding "cyber-crime". Children need to understand the risks of making an online mistake such as downloading from the internet.
Our job is to make sure they are talking to us, the parents or the teachers, about a mistake that was made to ensure that it is fixed as soon as possible.
