Voting for Life

As a Catholic

#1 - We Must Vote

Submission to authority and co-responsibility for the common good make it morally obligatory to pay taxes, to exercise the right to vote, and to defend one's country [Rom 13:7]

-Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2240

#2 Life is Primary Right

Life is the "primary and fundamental right"

-Donum Viate, Congreagtion for the Doctrine of the Faith

Common sense check: You can't give a fair wage, health care, or food to a dead person.

In 2006 Catholic Democrats issued a "Statement of Principles" that erroneously equated other aspects of Catholic social teaching to the right to life. This same logic is being used to state that there is "no difference" between the two major party candidates, and this logic follows the same error.
