All students, especially seniors, should be enrolled in credit recovery if needed. Classes are available after school on Monday-Thursday from 2:30-4:30. The last day for a senior to begin a credit recovery course is May 2. All coursework must be completed by May 20. Credit recovery classes are $100 per course but financial assistance is available for students receiving free or reduced lunch. Contact your child’s counselor with any questions or concerns.
College Applications
Seniors are encouraged to continue turning in college applications or applying online if they have not done so yet. Please let us know when your student gets accepted to college so we can congratulate them! They should also check out scholarship opportunities in the Counseling Office. Message from an Assistant Principal
Hello! My name is Lamanzer Williams and I am one of the new assistant principals at Grand Blanc High School. I am excited and greatly humbled to be at such a high achieving, high academic ranking and diverse high school. Every day when I arrive I still maintain the inner buzz and excitement that I had for my first interview. There are three main reasons that I feel so excited and proud to be a part of the Grand Blanc Community.
The first reason I am excited to be a part of this school district are my colleagues. I have been in many school districts, which gives me a good reference point, and the staff at Grand Blanc is one of very high integrity and professionalism. There are teachers that go above and beyond to help our students learn. This is evidenced by teachers staying late, coming in early, and sometimes inviting students to their classes during lunch to help them succeed. The level of work ethic is impressive and appreciated. We have many students on the honor roll, student of the month and other academic honors which is directly attributed to the work and leadership of our instructional staff. The staff have also been tremendously helpful in assisting me to get acclimated to the city and the school, which I am very thankful for.
Next, I am honored to work for and be under the leadership of Dr. Hammond, who is a proven high achiever throughout the state as an instructional leader. I have always enjoyed being a lifelong learner and to do that, I must have a supervisor I can learn from. With the rules and instructional changes happening constantly on the state level, it is awesome to have a leader that is recognized and well versed on state wide topics, teaching techniques, and leadership development.
Lastly, I am excited to be here in Grand Blanc because of the excellent culture we have. Since I have been here at the school, I have been able to connect and support all students in addition to building strong relationships with students and staff members. Everyone is accepted here at Grand Blanc, and that is the way it should be. Regardless of a student’s background or gender, everyone is treated with respect, and they have opportunities to succeed. When you have this type of caring, sharing and loving culture, within a school community, you have something really special.
Have a Great Day! GO BOBCATS!!
