What We Learned This Week

Reading - This week we read Henry and Mudge and the Starry Night, a short chapter book about Henry and his big dog, Mudge. We worked with vocabulary, answered questions using the text and describe the main characters.

Writing - We started a new descriptive piece - describing a haunted house! We did quite a bit of brainstorming and pre-writing before we start our rough drafts next week.

Math - We continued our study of money by learning about amounts of money greater than 1 dollar and solved problems involving money. Ask your kiddos about the dollar sign ($) and decimal (.) and what they mean.

A Note From Ms. Wold

I've really enjoyed getting to sit down with many of you this last week. Thank you for taking the time to come in early for conferences!

Just a reminder I will be gone Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week. Mrs. Remmer, a frequent substitute at Bayshore, will be with the kiddos those days and I know they will be in good hands.

Remember - Wednesday and Thursday are early release days - the kiddos will be dismissed at 12:30 and there is no school on Friday the 23rd.

Meet "Skeletron"

The kiddos will earn "bones" for Skeletron when they are working together and on task. Each "bone" is a different part of the celebration we will be having the Friday before Halloween.
