Plagiarism
Nick Richmond
What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else's work and claiming it to be your own.
What are the consequences?
Plagiarism can be punished by:
-Expulsion from the course
-Your work can be destroyed
-Legal action can be taken
Types of plagiarism:
-Direct word for word copying
-Accidental when the user forgets to submit their sources\
-When a student borrows quotes from another work without using quotation marks
Why is plagiarism bad?
Plagiarism is wrong because you are simply stealing someone else's work and making it your own. A creator has to work hard to make their content and when someone else takes it and claims it as their own it goes to waste.
