All Dried Up

Nine Western states have all been affected by the drought but California took the hardest hit. In response to the drought a mandatory cutback in water was imposed. To help get water flowing again people are looking at other water challenged places like Israel who began using desalination plates and reusing waste-water. Many counties are considering following Israels lead but hoping that they will get relief from a strong El Niño in the winter.
"[California's] 78,000 farms provide 25 percent of the food Americans eat, including about half of our fruits and vegetables."
The drought is affecting nine Western states, but California has been hardest hit.
The drought currently encompasses over 98% of the state of California.
