SATURDAY, MAY 16, 2020
Congratulations!
We have completed another successful school year. Although this year will not end with our traditional celebrations, we are proud of all of our students for maintaining their focus and finishing strong. We hope everyone enjoys a relaxing summer vacation.
We are scheduled to begin the new school year on August 6, 2020. There are many unknowns and this date could change. We will share updates as we receive them from the district. Please continue to monitor district updates for the latest information regarding the opening of schools.
Sincerely,
Principal CJB

final grades
MIDDLE SCHOOL COURSES (8TH GRADE)
All students, in grades 6-8 will receive either a “Pass” (PC-19) or a “Withdrawal” (WC-19) for their final course grades in middle school courses.
For high school credit courses (Spanish I and Math I) taken in middle school, students will have the option to record their grades as either (1) the numeric grade, or (2) Pass (PC-190 / Withdrawal (WC-19).
Any high school credit course taken in middle school will generate a credit toward graduation if passed but will not be calculated into the high school Grade Point Average (GPA) per State Board Policy.
If a student wants to post their numerical grade, they must request this option using a written request that comes from the parent. Students may make this choice individually by course. For example, the student may choose to take their numerical grade in two courses, but a “Pass” in the other two courses. Students will make this choice only after knowing their final average.
HIGH SCHOOL COURSES (9 - 11)
Students will have the option to record their grades as either (1) the numeric grade, or (2) Pass (PC-190 / Withdrawal (WC-19).
By default, students will receive a “Pass” or “Withdrawal.” If a student qualifies for a “Pass” and is comfortable with that outcome, they do not need to do anything. It will automatically be applied.
If a student wants to post their numerical grade, they must request this option using a written request that comes from the parent. Students may make this choice individually by course. For example, the student may choose to take their numerical grade in two courses, but a “Pass” in the other two courses. Students will make this choice only after knowing their final average.
Final grades for all high school courses should be posted in PowerSchool by Wednesday, May 20, 2020. We will email the request form to parents on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. Only complete the form if you want a numerical average posted for one of more courses. Please submit forms by Wednesday, May 27, 2020.
For more detailed information, please review the grading guidelines that are posted on the district's website under COVID-19 Update.
