NCII Tournament
The boys team lost their first game against the Des Moines Warriors, 44 to 61 on Friday, but finished strong Saturday vanquishing the Park Avenue Crusaders, 64 to 43 and defeating an Omaha Lightening team by scoring a whopping 80 points to their opponent's 68 points. This garnered the boys a 5th place finish in the B Bracket.
The girls got off to a positive start on Friday winning their first game against the Denver Eagles 49 to 45. The girls missed their chance to play in the championship game when Cornerstone edged them out by 3 points in a very close and hard fought game on Saturday afternoon. A few hours later, the Lady Lions faced Southern Kansas. Although they played hard, the fast paced game ended in a disappointing loss of 33 to 39. Still, their 4th place finish out of the 20 participating teams, was the highest showing in the Lady Lions history at the NDII Tournament.
We're proud of our IHS Lions and all the hard work the players and coaches have put into this season. Way to finish strong!

Join IHS Under the Big Tent
There is a great communication tool for groups called BIG TENT. It is a free, family-friendly, private online group that facilitates communication among members. (Similar to google groups).
As members discussed at the parent meeting last month, we all appreciate the sense of community present among IHS members and would like to strengthen that feeling by improving communication within the group. We anticipate that Big Tent will serve as a useful tool to help our awesome IHS community thrive.
Unlike our current weekly newsletter, Big Tent would allow more frequent private online announcements and discussions among members. Another benefit is an online Member Directory with contact information. Emails were sent out February 5th inviting parents to join the IHS group in Big Tent. Please contact laura@ihssports.org to be added to the group.
