Liberty Public Schools
Hello Fall!
The Liberty Public Schools 2021-2022 school year is in full swing!
Thank you to all the businesses and community members for partnering with LPS and providing Real-World Learning experiences for our students. These partnerships are invaluable to our district!
We have multiple ways to get involved and look forward to continuing our cherished partnerships with each of you. We remain determined to be #InThisTogetherLPS.
Student Workshops & Conferences
Future Teachers Conference - In September, LPS students were able to join Jewell's education department in learning about a career in teaching! Students participated in roundtable discussions with education department leadership and learned more about the exciting education programs that William Jewell has to offer.
Student Professional Skills Conference - In October, over 100 LPS high school students attended this conference where they participated in mock interviews, heard from local business leaders, received college and internship advice and toured Jewell's beautiful campus. All students walked away with a better understanding of how to prepare themselves for college and their future careers.
Educators Rising Conference - In early November, teaching interns had the opportunity to participate in a regional Educators Rising Conference in Olathe, Kansas. LPS students competed in several events including Lesson Planning and Delivery, Job Interviews and Job Shadowing. Students created presentations and videos to showcase their teaching and LPS staff and programs, and most of these future teachers won first or second place in their competitions. They also attended presentations on student engagement and social and emotional wellness and connected with area colleges and universities.
Network53 Internship Program
Liberty Public Schools has partnered with local businesses and organizations to provide internship opportunities for over 140 students for the 2021-2022 school year. This program has quadrupled its size in just one school year!
Through these internships, our students are able to learn more about different careers throughout our community while helping them develop their professional skills and build their own professional networks.
Become a Network53 Partner!
We also offer a Network53 Advisory Board. This Advisory Board offers an opportunity for LPS to partner with community professionals and discuss future student internships and job shadowing.
If you are interested in either opportunity, please click here to contact Liberty Public Schools.
The Educational Internship Program
Through the Educational Internship Program (EIP), students are partnered with a mentor teacher and offered in-depth teaching experience in local elementary and middle school classrooms. For the 2021-2022 school year, LPS has 110 seniors involved in this program! Follow us @LPS_EIP on Twitter to learn more about our teaching journeys.
