Reading

This week in reading, we will continue our work on identifying the most important parts of a story. We will be focusing on retelling the story through identification of the characters, the setting, and the important details. We will be working on inferring, or determining the central message or theme and how we can make connections to that when reading.

Word Wall Words:

  • favorite
  • kick
  • give
  • some
  • thank
  • that

Please read nightly with your child. Even 20 minutes a day can make a huge difference in your child's reading progress. Allow them to read independently, aloud to you, or even to a pet or stuffed animal. There is no right or wrong way to read! Your student has a book baggie each week that will provide a variety of books for them to read. Make it a priority and it will make a difference!
