Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
January 27, 2023
This week began with our staff having a productive day of professional learning on Monday, during which time 9 teacher-leaders in the building shared their expertise with colleagues on a variety of topics. We are so fortunate to have such skilled, veteran teacher-leadership here at Lutherville Lab.
We are all very proud of our students who did an excellent job with our evacuation drill this afternoon. Students quickly proceeded from classrooms to the back of our property where we reviewed the location of our rally point in the case of a true emergency.
Next week we will celebrate the 100th day of school on Wednesday, February 8th, which also marks the beginning of Black History Month. We will be celebrating throughout the month on the morning announcements, with projects in classrooms, and participating again in the highly popular virtual assembly Blacktastic from Arts for Learning Maryland. Our students loved this online Children's Festival of Maryland Black History and Culture last year and we are excited for that again at the end of the month.
Please mark your calendars for the book fair coming in two weeks. There will be an online option as well as evening shopping hours from 5:30-7:30 on Tuesday Feb 7th and Thursday February 9th. Otherwise, students will have the opportunity to shop during their Library specials time that week.
Have a great weekend, Leopard families!
