Plaintiff- A person who brings a case against another in a court of law
Civil Law- Civilian or roman law a legal system originating in Europe, primary source of law
Arbitration- The use of an arbitrator to settle a dispute.
Pretrial Conference- A short hearing where the judge informs the parties of the steps necessary to get ready for trial. the Pretrial conference is not a trial, court does not accept testimony or evidence or witnesses.
Pleading- The action of making an emotional or earnest appeal to someone.
Mediation- Intervention in a dispute in order to resolve It
Summons- Legal document issued by a court or by an administrative agency of government for various reasons.
Complaint- is any formal legal document that sets out the facts and legal reasons that the filling party or parties, believes are sufficient to support a claim against the party or parties against whom the claim is brought
Appeal- Apply to a higher court for a reversal of the decision of a lower court
Verdict- A decision on a disputed issue in civil or criminal case or and inquest.
Defendant- A person or entity accused of a crime in criminal prosecution or a person or a person or entity against whom some type of civil relief is being sought in a civil case.
