Dear Parents / Carers,
Also this week, Year 6 held an online meeting with our new local Member of Parliament, Keir Mather. The children asked about child poverty and they talked about the cost of living crisis but also went into local issues including flooding as well as discussing how Parliament works in more general terms. Mr Priory was impressed with the depth of questioning from the children who learned a great deal. Well done Year 6!
Finally this week, a reminder that you should not be parking or dropping off on the yellow zigzag lines or inside them in the bus stop outside of school. This is both dangerous for our children as well as being illegal and it also causes problems for buses trying to collect and drop off.
Have a lovely weekend,
Karen Williams

Message from Head Pupils
This week, all classes took part in forest school. Lots of fantastic dens were made, and the children were very sensible with the knives involved in whittling. They also toasted apples coated in cinnamon sugar. They were very tasty! Year 6 were lucky enough to meet our local MP, Keir Mather, yesterday. We asked lots of questions and Mr Mather gave us some fantastic answers. Meanwhile, KS1 have started rehearsing for their nativity, which will be available for parents to watch at the end of the half term.

We are starting to feel very festive indeed here in Friends HQ in the run up to December with all the fun, festive things in store. We hope all the children enjoy the 25, brand new festive books that we dropped into school to be used for their school advent calendar where each class can earn to open a new book for their class each day. It sounds like a great incentive.
The Christmas card online shop closes on Sunday 26th Nov, so all orders need to be in by then.
We have listened to some of the feedback from previous Christmas Fayre Events that the event can feel too busy and too much going on. So, this year we are offering three smaller events:
1) The Christmas Disco and non-uniform day – Wednesday 6th December. Donations of chocolate for the chocolate tombola are greatly received today please. All children are invited for a festive bop and to jingle the night away after school.
£3 entry to include a snack and drink. EYFS/KS1 = 3.15-4:30pm KS2 = 4:45-6pm.
2) The Christmas Celebration Event on Friday 15th December 3-5pm is going to be a time to join in some festive songs with the school choir, have a bite to eat and maybe a mulled wine (or two). There will be the much-loved chocolate tombola to look forward too and a few festive activities for everyone to enjoy.
Raffle tickets should be going home in Children's book bags from this week. Extra raffle tickets are available from the school office or can purchased at the village shop. The raffle will be drawn at 4:30pm at the Christmas Celebration Event.
3) Christmas Movie Night - Thursday 21st December 3:15-5:30pm.
£3 on the door to include popcorn and a hot chocolate / drink. All children are invited to watch a festive film together and they are welcome to bring a favourite teddy to snuggle up with.
We will also be providing refreshments at the Nativity Performances which the highlight of our year to watch, so please remember to bring some spare change along to throw into the donation buckets.
As always, your support is greatly appreciated and we are always in need of volunteers to make these events run successfully.
Please get in touch via email, Facebook or in person if you can help volunteer your time or can bake a delicious offering for the Christmas Celebration Event or have a raffle prize that you would like to donate.
