Riverbend Middle School
Seventh and eighth grade Social Studies teachers created activities and projects highlighting the contributions of African Americans in our country. They focused on pivotal events in United State history in regard to the African American community. In the spirit of Riverbend's school motto, ONE TRIBE, staff recognize that every student contributes to the beauty and the strength of the school community.

Truman Elementary
Love is in the air at Truman Elementary. Second grade students helped celebrate and recognize Counselor Appreciation Day for Mrs. Lydon-Lorson by welcoming her with homemade signs outside of her door. Many students wrote on hearts to express their gratitude for Mrs. Lydon-Lorson’s hard work and support each day.
Another highlight for Truman is their home and school connections led by first grade teachers. When children observe effective home-school partnerships, students are more engaged and focused. Grade one teachers had a goal to encourage and support monthly activities that involve families working together to complete a project. Here are some of the masterpieces displayed in the Truman hallways for the month of February.
Zitzman Elementary
Zitzman staff and fourth grade students chose one-word to guide their year in 2021. Many people will choose a new year's resolution each January to change an undesirable habit, but many people lose interest in that goal by February. The one-word process provides clarity by taking all of your big plans for change and narrowing them down into a single focus. Just one word that centers on your character and creates a vision for your future.
Teachers painted their words on a canvas to be displayed in the classroom. Students wrote them out with action steps for their one-word and displayed them in the hallway to serve as a reminder to stay focused on that one-word.
