Dare to be Different: FTMS East Student Announcements
ISTEP Part Two
Its that time of year again, ISTEP part two begins this Monday. We ask that you help avoid scheduling events/appointments during this time. We understand there are some unavoidable things that occur and in instances when a student misses a test they will make up the test immediately upon their return. We also want to remind you if your student is called out in the middle of a test for an appointment their test will automatically be disqualified and considered a DNP. Please review your students schedule, and the schedules below, to help navigate the next two weeks. We appreciate you support and encouragement as we begin round two of ISTEP.
Sincerely,
Matt Vandermark
FTMS East Principal

9th GRADE STUDENTS SUMMER SCHOOL: Physical Education
To all upcoming 9th grade students:
Students will have the opportunity to take one semester of Physical Education at Franklin Central High School during the summer of 2018! Summer School will be from May 29th, 2018 through June 22nd, 2018, and the hours will be from 7:30 am until 11:30 am. This is a great opportunity to earn a credit towards graduation before your high school career begins. As a reminder, Franklin Central High School Policy is that students may take one credit through the Indiana Online Academy, or students may take one semester of PE through the Summer School Program. Students must take one semester of PE during the school year at Franklin Central High School. Please contact Franklin Central High School’s Guidance Department if you have any questions.
FTMS East Library Media Center News:
As the end of the school year approaches, the media center must collect all outstanding materials and/or fines to begin inventory. If a “lost” item is returned to the media center, the fine will change according to our policy. Fines are $0.05 per day per item. I will calculate the new fine amount and send a receipt home if the item is returned. There will be no more than $5 charged for an overdue (books that have been returned).
Since it is near the end of the year, your child’s fine will transfer to the next school year. Your child will have their account “restricted” until the fine is resolved. We strive to provide literature and resources for students’ research projects, book reports, and leisurely reading. It is my hope that each student can be responsible for the items they checkout. We discuss this topic at length throughout the year.
Library fines can be paid by cash or check. Checks can be made payable FTMS East. If you have any questions, please email or call the Library Media Center during school hours at 317-803-8170.
