UPDATE FROM PRINCIPAL MILLER
Hello CMS family,
Our schools will remain closed this week and we will continue to have virtual office hours from 9 AM to 1 PM daily Monday through Friday.
Parents, please know this is new to all of us and we will do our best to make it through this time together as smoothly and efficiently as possible. We are learning, growing, and stretching ourselves every day, and we know you are, too.
Exploratory class selection forms were supposed to go home with all students this week. We are going to start virtual exploratory selection with our current 7th grade students. We will monitor this process closely and ensure that all students have the opportunity to select exploratory courses of their choice during this time.
Attention current 7th grade students and parents, you will receive a link with exploratory course descriptions and the exploratory selection form through Google Classroom at 9 AM on Monday, March 23. Please review the exploratory course descriptions and complete, sign electronically, and submit the exploratory selection form by Friday, March 27. Please note the form does require an electronic parent signature.
We miss you and want to remind you once again to take care of yourself and take care of each other.
We aRe Chapin!

South Carolina ETV and S.C. Department of Education partner in response to COVID-19
Despite mandatory school closures learning can continue for students across the state! South Carolina ETV and the S. C. Department of Education have partnered to use the power of television to broadcast streamlined, curriculum-based programming for the state's pre-K through 12th-grade students. Please pass this information along to your family and friends who are now planning how to keep their children's educational experiences top-of-mind during this unprecedented time for our nation and our state.
The content will align with current state and federal standards and will be broadcast three days each week beginning Tuesday, March 24 from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Program modifications will take place throughout the duration of school closures and will address a wide variety of content areas. Educators and parents will have access to supplemental lesson plans and curriculum materials to facilitate meaningful use of the content. Parents are, also, urged to contact their local schools directly for more specific information.
Visit www.scetv.org/athomelearning beginning Wednesday, March 18 for more information about the modified broadcast schedule, online instructional resources and virtual learning opportunities.
