TLES COMMUNITY NEWSLETTER
May 7, 2021
As a reminder, next week we open the iReady testing window for all students K-5. Students will be assessed on their skills in both Language Arts and Math. These tests will help students gauge where students are at this point in time and will drive instruction for the remainder of the year as well as virtual intervention/enrichment over the summer should parents choose to do so. These tests are also in lieu of the CAASPP (state standardized tests) that 3rd-5th grade students usually take at the end of the year. See informational flier below for more details.
Thank you as always for your support. Wishing all of our moms and mother-figures a Happy Mother's Day this weekend!
IMPORTANT DEVICE RENEWAL, INSURANCE & TEXTBOOK RETURNS
With summer break quickly approaching, there are a number of things we need to do before we can wrap up the school year. Part of our end-of-the-year process involves the inspection of all TVUSD provided devices, to be completed throughout the month of May. We kindly ask that all students keep their devices with them everyday to assist us in the inspection process (online students will be scheduled for a Monday in May inspection-see below). Our protocol will be for all students to keep their device throughout the summer. Families that aren’t interested in keeping their device over the summer may return it to their site on June 9th, 2021, 8:30am-3:00pm.
Once a device passes inspection, families have until June 11th to purchase an insurance policy (optional) to cover usage beginning July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. (Insurance will be renewed each school year.) Parents will be notified via email the link and instructions for insurance purchase. The Library Team will begin iPad inspection with ON CAMPUS STUDENTS grade TK - 4 beginning on 5/10/21. ONLINE STUDENTS may come to the school library at their scheduled time (see schedule below). If parents are not able to stop by the school please email Lori Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up an appointment.
Fifth Grade students and students moving to another school in or out of the district will need to return their device to our site the week of June 7th, between 1:00-3:00pm. Students can contact their new school in the event that they require a device over the summer. TVUSD is proud to offer technology to our students! Thank you for partnering with us as we prepare for the summer and next school year.
