Thursday's Thoughts
January 19, 2017
The house party will be rescheduled due to not having the materials for the party in and ready.
Just a few things...
Please remember out three goals for this year:
1. Accurate reading levels
2. Writing about reading
3. No 0's on the writing test
It is clear that writing has been our main focus. With the new writing plan, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that our students will become better writers. Writing is a skill they will need throughout their entire lives. We must ensure we are preparing them to be writers. Every grade level's writing plan is posted in the conference room. Please remember that because our plan was recently created and because we are in an emergency situation with writing, you must use the plan as you can to see what you have taught, what you have left to teach, and what you need to focus on in the coming months. Beginning next year, we will all follow the plan which will result in an unified effort to build better writers. Please take the time to look at each grade level's plan to see how it builds and the importance of everyone following this guide.
As we continue through the next months, I want to remind you to make sure your plans are detailed and well thought out. Your plans should include:
1. The standard
2. The activity
3. The assessment
Great instruction begins with great plans. Please make sure your plans are in the folder each Monday by 8:30.
As we all set goals our first day back, my goal was to be in your rooms. I want to be a part of what you do each day. I know it is hard work. My goal is to be in rooms from 8:30-10:30 and 12:30-2:00 each day. I want to partner alongside you to help you in anyway I can.
Thank you for being here each day, working hard, studying standards, talking to kids, listening to one another, and smiling.
Happy Friday!
