Note From the Heath Room
Hello from the Health Room!
Allergy season is upon us!
We have already seen several students because of allergies. It may be a good idea to start giving your student allergy medicine at night before going to bed or a non drowsy Allergy pill in the mornings before school.
You may bring an unopened bottle of medicine to the school for your student to keep in the Health Room.
LIBRARY BOOKS FOR GRADES 4-6 VIRTUAL LEARNERS
Hello!
We have exciting news from the Library! Grades 4-6 Virtual Learners now have the opportunity to check out library books. Here are all the details you need to know to make this process as smooth as possible:
How To Request Books
Log in to your school’s Destiny Discover. You can access Destiny Discover from the Library Website or the Library Schoology Course.
Search for the books you are interested in reading. When you find a book you would like, you will need to place a HOLD on it. Watch this video or read these instructions to learn how to HOLD a book.
You may place up to 4 holds at a time. However, only two books will be checked out to a student at a time. Please choose a variety of books. Some popular titles may take longer to become available. Choosing up to 4 increases the odds a student will receive two books.
Holds need to be placed NO LATER THAN Sunday night in order to get books that upcoming week.
Please note - books that have been reserved but not picked up by end of day Friday will be returned to circulation so other students may access them.
How To Pick Up Your Books
Pick-up days are during normal school hours Tuesday through Friday. The week of September 21-25 is the first week books will be available for pickup (holds will have been placed by Sunday, September 20).
Students/Families will receive an email notifying them which books are available to be picked up. If you have not received an email, your material will NOT be ready - the default messaging in Destiny indicates that material requested as a hold is immediately available even when it is not - we cannot change this messaging.
Books will then be placed in a bag with the student’s name on the outside.
Go to your school's front office, where you will be directed to where the books are located.
How to Return Your Books
Books are due every week OR when you are finished reading.
When students/families come back to school to get new books, please return the finished books to the designated book return. It will be in the same area where books are picked up.
Repeat the process as often as you need new books! Remember, holds need to be placed no later than Sunday night in order to get books for that week. Although students/families hold a book, it may not be available due to it being checked out, on hold, or it being in quarantine. :)

A few notes on protocols and health guidelines for LSR7
* Staff and students wear masks at all times unless we are taking a mask break while socially distanced.
* Students will hand wash and/or sanitize hands each time they leave and enter a new space. Ex: from classroom to art, from PE to recess, from classroom to lunch, etc. . .
* Classroom desks/tables will be sanitized each time students eat breakfast.
* Students will maintain consistent seating charts in classrooms, at lunch, in special class and students will have assigned line orders. These practices will help us should we need to contact trace.
* The schedule has been build with extra time in between recesses and special class so equipment and materials can be cleaned.
