Announcements
Thank you:
Staff that came down during Donuts for Dads to say "Hi". It means a lot to kids and families to see you! Also, those that helped with supervision during the chaotic arrival time! We definitely had all hands on deck!
Toni and Dan for your "above and beyond" help with MAPS organizing Donuts for Dads!
Reminders:
It's HQT time! Next week most of you will be receiving your HQT forms to complete. If your assignment has not changed, you will simply check a box and sign it. Those that are new or have new courses will mark the appropriate HQT criteria. HQT is only required for ELA, Math and Science. Please have your forms turned into me by Wednesday, October 28. I will review them and send to the CAO. See me if you have any questions.
At the Board meeting on Monday, Dr. Fritz proposed a calendar change. Since voting day has changed, we will have a PD day on March 15 and go to school on May 3. The Board will vote on this in November so it is not official yet.
With the end of the end of the quarter being Oct. 21, you will need to make sure all progress marks and comments are in Power School by midnight on Oct. 27.
Continually check the Google Staff Monclova Events calendar for upcoming events.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU FILL OUT BLUE FORMS WHEN YOU ARE ABSENT! The CAO is repeatedly sending emails to Jane and I about teachers missing forms after an absence. We will forward the emails on to for reminders but please get the forms in as soon as possible.
Imagination Station has been set for March 22 and 23.
Please put any planned absences in Aesop as soon as you know you will be out, this will help ensure your class is covered.
Words of Wisdom and Action..................
Now I hope all of you will take the pledge!
The Positive Teacher Pledge
- I pledge to be a positive teacher and positive influence on my fellow educators, students and school.
- I promise to be positively contagious and share more smiles, laughter, encouragement and joy with those around me.
- I vow to stay positive in the face of negativity.
- When I am surrounded by pessimism I will choose optimism.
- When I feel fear I will choose faith.
- When I want to hate I will choose love.
- When I want to be bitter I will choose to get better.
- When I experience a challenge I will look for opportunity to learn and grow and help others grow.
- When faced with adversity I will find strength.
- When I experience a set-back I will be resilient.
- When I meet failure I will fail forward and create a future success.
- With vision, hope, and faith, I will never give up and will always find ways to make a difference.
- I believe my best days are ahead of me, not behind me.
- I believe I’m here for a reason and my purpose is greater than my challenges.
- I believe that being positive not only makes me better, it makes my students better.
- So today and every day I will be positive and strive to make a positive impact on my students, school and the world!
