Principal's Den

Hello Cloverdale Family,

Welcome to our last week of September. Summer is now behind us and we are well on our way into the the 2021-22 school year. Many of you have received your first progress reports from your teachers. If you have any questions regarding your grades or current progress please reach out to your teacher for support.

We have wonderful students and high expectations for them in academics and citizenship. Should you need support, please know that you can reach out to your teachers and our administration team for support. If you ever have a case of bullying to report, please go online to our www.mvusd.net website or come into our office for a bullying reporting form. It is important that we all talk to our students about keeping their hands to themselves and not touch other students in games and especially against their consent. Please talk to them about the importance of respecting school and others' property as well. There are videos on social media promoting the destruction or theft of school property.

Thank you all for understanding our covid safety expectations and protocols. Should you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact our office. I'd like to remind you how important it remains for us to follow all safety protocols. Masks continue to be required for all indoor activities. It is important that you continue to wash your hands frequently, avoid touching your face, and not participate in any games that include touching others including tag.

Our PTA is planning to open our student store in October. Many of you have already been earning Lion Pride Tickets. Please continue to save these in order to exchange them for prizes. We have wonderful citizens at Cloverdale and we want to reward your leadership and kindness.

Please continue to follow all safety recommendations concerning Covid. If you are sick, experiencing any covid symptoms, or have been exposed to someone at home that has tested positive, it is very important that you remain home until you are feeling better. If you experience any covid-like symptoms please stay home and let us know. You will be asked to remain home and test on or after the 5th day, or you may choose to isolate for ten days and you no longer experience symptoms. If you have any questions, please contact our school office for assistance.

Let's make this our best year and as always, let's strive to be LEADERS BY EXAMPLE!

Thank you,

At Cloverdale we strive to be Leaders by Example. As I mention to our students during announcements, this means that we always try to do the right thing even when no one is looking.

As part of our school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS), we also learn to ROAR. This is a matrix that exemplifies our core values of being Respectful, Organized, Accountable, and Responsible.

Our goal is to be college ready once we graduate from High School and that starts today!

Sincerely,

Genaro García

Principal
