Important Reminder
Reminder that students should not be playing on the playground before school starts. We have no adult supervision before school on the playground so it is not safe.

Principal’s Message - March 19, 2021
Dear Hornung Families,
We’re on the home stretch! Spring Break will occur starting the end of next week! There will be NO SCHOOL starting Saturday, March 27th through Monday, April 5th. School will resume in person on Tuesday, April 6th!
LAST REMINDER!!! Our 6th Annual Hornung PTO Silent Auction is LIVE now!
Our auction consists of both Classroom baskets and Sports Memorabilia presented by Bruce Mugerian.
The estimated value of these items are nearly $14,000! Like last year, we will be conducting the entire auction online. Here is the link to to access the auction…...

100% of all money earned through this auction goes to our school. Lets make this a great auction and have some fun bidding! In addition…A HUGE Thank You to all the classroom parent volunteers who coordinated and assembled the baskets. Everyone did an awesome job. Lastly, many thanks to all the families who donated items to their classroom baskets. We appreciate all of you and this auction would not be possible without your continued efforts. Also, please check out the many autographed sports items on page 2 of the Auction…Great stuff!
The auction will close this Sunday, March 21st @ 9pm. Pickup or delivery (local only) will be arranged that week. If you bid, you have to have the ability to pay online with PayPal. This will keep the auction contactless. Payment online will be required at the time the auction closes to secure your purchase. We also have a “Buy it Now” option. Friends and family are more than welcome to bid, but they have to have the ability to pick up or have a local delivery, there is no shipping.
If you have any questions, please contact Deanne Ferrell (deanneferrell@gmail.com) or Karen Nicholson (knichlson01@icloud.com).
Sincerely, Jack Yates

Counselor Corner
Here we are in March, ready for some sunshine and warmer weather! This month, we will be visiting classrooms for some Read Alouds and social-emotional stories for Reading Month. We are also focusing on the needs of students and classrooms and providing additional support with student groups and individual support. Our goal for this month is to more directly meet the needs of our students during this stretch of the year when we all need a little more TLC.
Lets Connect: If you are noticing some behaviors that are interfering with your child’s success in the classroom, please feel free to complete my parent referral form and we can work together to determine if supports are needed here at school.
More Resources: We also have our BAS Elementary Counseling website for ideas and resources to be used at home!
