June 2022
Happy Summer!!! We made it!
First of all, thank you to everyone that helped with our Graduate Recognition Sunday and making Zion's seniors feel the love as we send them into the next chapter of their lives. I also appreciate those that shared an hour of their time to help host the blood drive. What a blessing to know that our Zion family was able to make a difference and help keep the blood supply stocked up for people in need. Mark your calendars now for October 30th for another blood drive that we will be hosting!
We enjoyed welcoming our incoming Freshmen into our group on the 22nd! The group bonded over time at the water park, a devotion, icebreakers and getting to know you activities. It was a fun and special day for our Sr. High Family!
Sr. High does not stop for summer! Check out the calendar below for our June activities! The schedule will look slightly different in that Connection Hour is on pause for the summer. This is to allow for families to worship on Sunday mornings and then spend intentional spiritual time together. See the Parent Corner for ideas!
Chad and I will be out of town and unavailable from May 27-June 2nd as we celebrate our 20th anniversary. Feel free to reach out to the church office if you need anything at all during that time.
I have tried to be as informative as possible in each section below. Please let me know if you have any questions! Please fill out the quick prayer request link if there is any specific way I can be in prayer for you and your family!

Active Shooter Training on Wednesday, June 8th @ 7pm.
Prior to the tragic events in Uvalde unfolding, we had already asked Lieutenant Glen Lester, DPS - Highway Patrol, to come present active shooter training to our group prior to leaving for NYG. After the tragic shooting in Uvalde, it was reinforced that this is necessary and timely for our students. While we pray that this type of training will never be needed, we are grateful that there is a very qualified officer that is willing to come and teach our students what do to should they ever be in this situation.
Hang Time on June 12th - Bring a White T-Shirt!
Meet & Greet for Potential Youth Director Candidate on June 17th
We'd like to invite our Sr. High students (and parents) to a Meet & Greet on Friday, June 17th, for potential Youth Director Candidate, David Stuckwisch. He will be coming into town with his family to visit Zion that weekend. He is the first candidate that the search committee is bringing here for an onsite interview.
The schedule for the evening is as follows:
- Parents' Meet & Greet from 6-6:30
- Student Hang Time from 6:30-8:00
We hope you will join us! Please cover this entire interview process in your prayers. We know that God already knows!
Reminder for NYG Families!
We will have a parent/participant meeting on Sunday, June 5th, from 9:30-10:30 in the gym. We'll go over final details for our NYG adventure in JULY!

Parenting Corner
Also, here is the list from last month's newsletter of intentional ways to help equip your teenager for adulthood. Some of these would be great to work on this summer - we'll be doing some of these in my house, for sure!
