Welcome to the 23-24 School Year at Romeo Middle School
We hope that all of our families and students had an amazing summer and are ready for a great year of learning at RMS. We wanted to take this opportunity to introduce our grade level counselors. We are fortunate to be able to move up with our students at RMS, so your student will have the same counselor the whole time he or she is attending middle school.
The role of a counselor is to be an advocate for students and work with parents and teachers to provide a welcoming and encouraging environment for all of our students. We are the helpers and problem solvers of the building. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have. If we do not have the answers, we will find the person who does. Our priority is to make sure that our students feel comfortable and grow academically, emotionally, and socially while they are with us.
6th Grade - Christina Bazner
Welcome to 6th Grade at RMS! This is my 9th year as a counselor and my 3rd year at Romeo Middle School. I look forward to supporting your student throughout their middle school career. A little about me: my husband and I are expecting our first baby in mid-October!! Although I will be on leave for a portion of the school year, I can assure you that, during my absence, your student will be in GREAT hands. In the meantime, I am dedicated to learning names and interacting with students on a daily basis to let them know I care and am by their side for the ups and downs of middle school. In my spare time I love playing sports, laughing, spending time with family and friends, and walking our dog, Sally. Should you need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out. Have a GREAT weekend!

7th Grade - Shelley Bjorkstrand
Hello 7th Grade Students and Parents! I am so happy to be on this journey with you this year. This is my 29th year in education and my 24th year at Romeo Middle School. I am a mom to 3 amazing young women, and a grandma to my beautiful granddaughter, Frankie. I also am a dog mom to my goofy pugs, Ralph and Zeus. When I am not in school I enjoy hiking, camping, and traveling with my husband. I love that I get to be part of your educational experience and watch you grow while you are at RMS. Feel free to email me with any questions you may have, or stop by the counseling office to check in or chat. Have a great year!!
8th Grade- Cara Skover
Hi 8th grade students & families! I hope you enjoyed your summer as much as I did; chasing my 5 year old, 3 year old, and 9 month old all over the place (literally)!
I can’t EVEN believe that our once little 6th graders are now the big kids in school! It has been so cool to see how all of the students have changed, grown, and matured over summer. I am excited to see these kids have an awesome 8th grade year and am always here for whatever support they or you all need. It takes a village and I love nothing more than being a part of that! Please feel free to reach out to me anytime via phone or email, or stop in anytime you are in the building.
Talk to you soon,
Cara Skover
