After the first day of our food drive, we've collected 68 items for our Railer Boxcar. Please continue to bring non-perishable food items to seminar this week. The seminar with the most points will win a pizza party, and one students who donates items will win a $100 gift card.


Winter Athletes - It's time to complete the paperwork and online registration for winter sports participation. Practices begin November 14th. See the Athletic & Activites website for the 2022-23 requirements. If you participated in the fall you will only need to pay the winter Pay for Participation fee to be eligible.


The Library's second Games Event is this Thursday during Seminar. See your Seminar teacher OR email Miss Bergman to sign up!


Club and Winter Sports Pictures - Friday, November 18


If you need a cool gift idea for the holiday season, the welding students are selling Railerman Santas. They come in two sizes, large for $30 and small for $25. There's a very limited quantity, so get them quick. Either scan the QR code by the auditorium or go on out to the Welding shop in Brooks Trade Center.


Spring Sports preseason training for track and baseball will begin on the first Monday after Thanksgiving break. (November 28th) We will meet in the weightroom. If you have any questions please see Coach Remsberg, Coach George, or Coach Slade.


Cross Country - Remember to bring your gear to Coach Bergquist's office by tomorrow morning.

StuCo is sponsoring a Peach Fuzz Volleyball tournament on Nov. 8 from 7-9 p.m. in Willis Gym. Admission is a non-perishable food item. Come cheer on your classmates and help collect food for our Railer Boxcar.

Students: If you would like to wear a Halloween costume on Friday, you can find StuCo members to trick-or-treat for candy during the day. Costumes may NOT include masks, weapons or anything school inappropriate , and you will be asked to change if the costume is deemed dangerous or inappropriate


Vape Take Back day is Friday. Students, you can turn in vapes discreetly and you will not get in trouble. 5 dollar Sonic gift cards will be given to each student turning in a vape.


Wednesday, October 26, will be an all block schedule day. Students check email and look for posted signs in the building for the bell schedule. Thursday is a black day.

October is Bully Prevention Month. We encourage Railers to spread kindness instead! Thursday, October 20th from 7:30 until 7:55 - we will have a table set up towards the main entrance with paper and markers to create a kind note to pass along! Wednesday is float building from 5-8 p.m. in the livestock building on the corner of First and Grandview. Come help build your class float and enjoy some free pizza. Also, remember that tomorrow's theme is decades day. Wear an outfit from your favorite decade!


Join us for the parade as we wrap up homecoming week. We will travel down 1st Street from the B&B Parking Lot to Athletic Park. Line up is at 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot just east of Casey's, and the football game will follow, starting at 7 p.m. The homecoming dance is Saturday night from 8-10 p.m. It is a semi-formal event, and tickets will be $5 at the door. Don't forget your student ID.

KU School of Medicine in Wichita is offering Doc for a Day on Nov 5. This half day workshop
invites students interested in medicine to learn about different medical careers and visit with
Medical students. Registration is LIMITED and due by Oct 7. See your counselor for registration
information.

Students planning to take the PSAT test: the library now has printed practiced tests available.
Stop by and help yourself!


Upward Bound students will meet in the Lecture Hall Tuesday September 13 during Seminar.

Library Contest: Can you match your teachers with their favorite books from childhood and from now? Stop by the library to enter the THEN and NOW contest. The top ten responses with the most correct answers will get a small prize, and the winner(s) will get a $10 giftcard to Amazon! Contest ends September 30th.

Auditions for the musical will be after school today. You'll need to sing a verse and a chorus,
and there will be cold readings from the script. Contact Heidrick with any questions or to

Congratulations to our performing arts students in music, drama, and debate! NHS was
recently named one of the top 17 "Performing Arts Schools of Excellence" in the state.


Week of August 29, 2022


We have openings for high school clerks at Harvey Drug and Hesston Pharmacy. The hours would be from after school until 6pm at Harvey Drug and after school until 5:30pm at Hesston Pharmacy and 9-12 some Saturdays at Hesston. Students must be 16 years of age and strong students.

There will be a meeting for all boys interested in potentially playing basketball this year with
Coach Williams during Seminar at 2:45 PM in Ravenscroft Gym. Students wishing to attend
should email Mr. Becker to have an eHall pass created.


Picture yourself in the Library! Come visit the Library's photo booth, and take your picture using
silly props. All submitted pictures will be enetered in a drawing for prizes at the end of August.

Hutchinson Community College will be at NHS on THURSDAY Sept 1 during seminar to take
HCC ID pictures in the lecture hall. Any students taking HCC classes should plan to attend.

KU School of Medicine in Wichita is offering Doc for a Day on Nov 5. This half day workshop
invites students interested in medicine to learn about different medical careers and visit with
Medical students. Registration is LIMITED and due by OCt 7. See your counselor for registration information.

We have openings for high school clerks at Harvey Drug and Hesston Pharmacy. The hours would be from after school until 6pm at Harvey Drug and after school until 5:30pm at Hesston Pharmacy and 9-12 some Saturdays at Hesston. Students must be 16 years of age and strong students.


Picture yourself in the Library! Come visit the Library's photo booth, and take your picture using silly props. All submitted pictures will be entered in a drawing for prizes at the end of August.


Juniors who would like to take the ACT Workkeys must sign up by August 25th.
