Friday Focus
April 29, 2016
It is a Friday (basically in May) with students in the building. I thought about some long winded propaganda about student relationships and then realized it is the not right time of year to get that to stick. I’m going with celebration instead.
Next week is Teacher appreciation week and it is well deserved this year. We get very little appreciation from outside the walls and sometimes we skimp on appreciating each other more. Try and think of some positive experiences this year and remember how they make you feel better about being here. You became a teacher for important reasons and those are the things you need to think about and use to fuel you back up.
I definitely appreciate you and I know I am spoiled and blessed with a wonderful staff. Hallsville is amazing because of the talent we have amassed and use to push each other. Take some time next week to let a coworker know you appreciate working with them. Each of you make this place better with your unique contribution to the students and to our staff culture. Keep up the good work and don’t let this weird year get you down. For those who have been here a long time, you know this is an anomaly for us. New teachers please give us another chance before you make your mind up about how crazy we are.
I am glad next week is set aside for teacher appreciation, but all year long you deserve to be appreciated, because you “Improve lives through learning!”
