Spooky Halloween Shetland Pony
I am giving away Spook, an old stallion Shetland Pony of mine, in the spirit of fall. Something about him just screams fall- it may be that he is short and fat and resembles a pumpkin. I am too old to take care of him and he is too old to take care of himself at the age of 25. I assure you that he is very spooky and will scare children if the need arises as he is not good around them. Contact me if you are interested at 214-234-2346.
Coloring of the Little dude
Most Shetland Ponies range from black, to chestnut, to bay, to grey, to brown, or to dun, roan, or cremello, but my buddy is orange. Some may call that "sorrel" but I prefer orange like a pumpkin. He has absolutely no markings which furthers my "he is kin to a pumpkin" argument.
"I assure you he is very spooky"
"Will never fail to frighten you"
Size
Like most Shetland Ponies, Spook is 8 hands tall and weighs around 450 lbs.

Use
Like I said, he is not very good with children, which is a shame because that is what most people look for in the process of acquiring a Shetland. He actually used to be shown in harness driving classes at shows, but sadly, never won.
Appearance
Spook is very strong and sturdy. His face is small compared to his stocky body and neck. Think miniatuare body builder in horse form. He resembles a potato on four little sticks, but he is a great potato if anything.
Origins of Shetlands
I like to believe that my Shetland came from royalty in the Shetland Isles of Scotland. Although that is most likely not the case and he is probably just offspring of one of the thousands of ponies that were exported across the Atlantic Ocean in the 19th century, a little imagination never hurt anyone.
Importance of Shetlands
Shetlands are pretty important so I thought I would include this tidbit of information. Due to their strength, Shetland Ponies were used for work horses in mines after children were banned from working in them around 1847. Their ability to adapt to the underground climate proved useful at the time.
