Remote Learning Remainder of this Week
OVMS Parents and Students,
Students will not be reporting to the school building for the next five school days.
Starting Tuesday, April 20 (tomorrow) all Orchard View School buildings will be shifting to Remote Learning.
Tuesday, April 20, teachers will have a Planning Day. Students will not have virtual lessons.
Wednesday (April 21) through the following Monday (April 26) will be Remote Learning.
This weekend, COVID numbers and close contacts will be reassessed to determine if school will re-open for face-to-face instruction on Tuesday, April 27.
Virtual Conferences will still be conducted as planned.
Again, Tuesday, April 20, is a day to prepare for remote learning and catch up on any missing assignments. Thank you for your understanding.
Remote Learning will begin on Wednesday, April 21. Please check your email and Google Classroom on Tuesday afternoon for updates regarding instruction for each teacher's remote learning plan.
OVMS Return to Learn Plan
Return to Learn Expectations
Expectations of work and behaviors during distance learning will be maintained similar to how they were in the classroom.
Assignments must be completed and will be graded by teachers similar to how they were in the traditional classroom setting.
If a student is sick or has extenuating circumstances causing them to not attend their Google Meet, they must contact their teacher(s) to let them know.
Please understand middle school students are expected to fully participate in remote learning directed by their teachers. This includes participating online, completing assignments, studying for assessments, and answering emails and phone calls from their teachers and OVMS staff.
Please check in with your teen frequently and ask them questions about how their distance learning is going. Share any concerns you have or your child has with his or her teacher.
We are thankful that we have been able to remain in our face-to-face setting. Please continue to talk to your student about frequent hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes, avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth. Stress the importance of social distancing from their peers and classmates and to maintain their face covering while in school and in the hallways. Stress the need to social distance when in public outside of school as well. Thank you in advance for keeping your child home, learning on Google Classroom if they or you are feeling sick.
- We appreciate your partnership and support. Thank you for monitoring your child’s homework/studying levels and for encouraging your child to attend their Google Meets daily and on-time.
