Ms. Hartman's Third Grade News

Everything you need to know about room 209 and more.....

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing weekend!! I was able to go down the mountain to Spartanburg to celebrate my Mom's birthday. My parents cannot wait to come in and meet our kiddos. I asked them, "Are we were too old for this?" and they replied "They're only in third grade." I said, "I meant us." You gotta love it! ;)

I wanted to update you on our schedule for this week. Due to the snow days and two-hour delays this past week, our mCLASS assessments, as well as our MAP assessments have been pushed back. We (3rd grade) hope to conclude our mCLASS assessments by Wednesday. All 3-5 students have to take both Math and ELA MAP assessments and we are scheduled to take our ELA assessment on Tuesday at 8:30 and Math on Wednesday at 8:30. This is a web-based assessment, so we will be in the computer lab for both of these tests. Again, I am so excited to analyze this data because it will give me the information I need to best serve each child. I'm also a huge data nerd!

Just to let you know I will be out this Thursday to attend a Math Foundations Training at WRESA. I have been through the Reading Foundations Training and I am currently certified as a Reading Foundations Trainer, so I fully understand the incredible impact this training will have on my instruction. I know five days is a lot to miss between now and May, but I can assure you the benefits of this course, outweigh my absences. If you need ANYTHING on Thursday, please either directly call the classroom 350-6531 or in case of an emergency, Mrs. Ornato at 350-6507.

As always, thank you all for your continued support and all you do for our children! They are all so precious and I am so blessed to have each one of them in my life on a daily basis.

Thank you!

Teah
