Ms. Lela Simmons - Chief Financial Officer
Dr. Marlon Mitchell - Director of Human Resources
Ms. Tamara Pol - Director of Special Education
Ms. Cynthia Castro - Director of Federal Projects
Ms. Xochitl Medina - Director of English Language Learners
School City of East Chicago was the first district in Indiana to implement the Beyond Textbooks Curriculum Framework. I want to thank all of our staff for trying something new with open arms, and for implementing Beyond Textbooks with fidelity. Also, for welcoming the Vail USD to East Chicago.
Beyond Textbooks helps us define which standards are the most important, it also indicates when to teach each standard, how to teach a standard, as well as how to assess mastery.
We are starting the second semester of the school year. Please make sure your child(ren) come to school on time and prepared. Please do not drop off your students earlier than the time specified by your school principal.
Remember to always check the district website for all updated and new information at http://www.scec.k12.in.us
