Note from Gina

Hello Pierremont Families!

We had a great week of in-person transition to school, and our virtual campus is moving along very well. I am so proud of the staff and students! Safety routines and procedures are becoming a little more normalized in the building. We want to send a big thank you to our PTO for providing lunch to our teachers while they were preparing classrooms for our return to school.

Next week the schedule changes a bit due to Voting day on Tuesday. Please refer to the schedule below. Remember, all in-person students come back to school simultaneously on November 9! We appreciate your patience and kindness, as we might expect longer than usual waits in our car lines. But we know safety is first and the kids will be happy to see their whole class together.

Have a great weekend!

Assistant Principal Pointers

Thank you to all of the drop-off and pick-up drivers for having their student name signs in the window to help our staff during dismissal. Things have been going really smoothly, and I am so impressed with all of the students that have had their masks on before they exit their cars. Nice job!

Please remember to stay in your car and let one of our staff members help your child in and out of the car. If you need to assist your child in putting on their seatbelt, it would be helpful to pull forward and off to the side to allow for the car line to flow. We really appreciate your patience as we get the process worked out! :) Megan

Big picture

We still have quite a few masks that have not been picked up!

If you ordered just a mask, those will be labeled and sent home through school.

If you ordered a mask and a lanyard or just lanyards, we will need payments for the lanyards before we can send those home. You can send the money through school in an envelope labeled PTO Lanyards with your students name and teacher name. Checks are made out to Pierremont PTO. I will not be able to send change back for cash payments.

If you are a virtual family, please contact Jessica Bruner, jessyerose14@yahoo.com to arrange a pickup/drop off.

3-5 Chrome book insurance

The district strongly encourages you to opt for the $25 insurance fee that helps cover device damage, loss, or theft. Students in grades K-2 and 12 will not need insurance because repairs can be made with existing parts on hand.

Chromebook insurance registration is open and can be completed here. All you need is your child’s student ID to begin the process. If you do not know your child’s ID, it can be found in Infinite Campus.

Learn more about the fee and the protection it provides and how to register here. If you need assistance, please email our Help Desk at helpdesk@parkwayschools.net.

Message from P.E. Teachers

We are so excited for this next step, Quarter #2!!! No matter if you are in-person or remaining virtual, we will continue to be your child's PE teachers. So, here is some information for the next quarter:

1. Hats, Coats, Gloves, OH MY! Please send your child with appropriate outerwear. WE WILL BE OUTSIDE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

2. Kids Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope for Heart)

We have your child's thank you favors! We will be handing these out as soon as possible. If you are virtual, please contact us to let us know how you want to get yours. We are happy to send home with a neighbor if that is helpful.

3. Virtual families- please continue to keep a basket or bucket for your child to keep items they will need such as a small ball, larger ball, scarf, pool noodle, balloon to blow up to use for volleying, and paper (they can use their basket or bucket as a target). Also, please send us an email if your child will not have their video on for whatever reason. We want to make sure that we are on the same page, and to ensure we can report accurately for Q2.

Have a great week,

Mrs. Skiba and Mrs. Wallace
