Wolf Creek Weekly
Building Pathways To Success
From The Principal's Desk
Greetings!
Welcome back to school! We had an exciting 1st week and we are looking forward to an outstanding school year. We know with your support, we will be successful.
Students looked great in their uniforms last week. Let's keep it up! We are a uniform school. Our students wear kelly green, navy blue or white polo style tops and khaki bottoms. Many of them rock "funky" socks and shoes of their choice with their uniforms and it looks very cool! Try it to help engage your child in the uniform initiative. We appreciate your support in participating in our uniform initiative. For uniform vendor information, please see the school's website at http://school.fultonschools.org/es/wolfcreek/Pages/default.aspx or the Wolf Creek PTA Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/wolfcreekelementarypta/ .
We are a Leader In Me school! Staff, students and stakeholders will be engaging in the principles of the 7 Habits of successful people this year. The first habit is Be Proactive! See the 7 Habits Tree picture below. For more information see: http://www.theleaderinme.org/ . We are excited about teaching 21st century leadership and life skills to students, staff and stakeholders and creating a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. Stay tuned!
As you know, we also support our PBIS initiative with our PACK principles! They tie in seamlessly with the 7 Habits. Every day students will recite the Wolf PACK Creed. See the parent and student handbook online and in the front of your child's agenda. Help us by supporting them in learning the Wolf Pack Creed by hard! We are looking for the 1st class at each grade that learns the creed and can recite by hard.
Check out our new school website! https://www.fultonschools.org/wolfcreekes
Please check the school website often. We update the site regularly. The school calendar, handbooks, PTA and SGC information can be found there.
We are looking forward to a great year!
Thanks for all you do! Let's Go Wolves!
In Partnership,
Principal Glass
Wolf Creek Elementary is transforming students into globally minded, accountable, lifelong learners and champions who display strong positive leadership skills.
School Communication Tools
Agendas - Each child has a school issued agenda book. We use this as a home-school communication tool. Teachers should be communicating regarding school updates, behavior and homework. Please sign the agenda each night. Agendas are treated as textbooks. Replacement cost is $5.00 if lost.
Class Dojo - Each teacher will be communicating through Class Dojo this year. If you haven't signed up for your child's teacher account, please inquire with your child's teacher. Class Dojo is a communication app for the classroom. It connects teachers, parents, and students who use it to share photos, videos, and messages through the school day. They use ClassDojo to work together as a team, share in the classroom experience, and bring big ideas to life in their classrooms and homes.
Newsletters, websites, and other technology tools - Each grade level will send home, at minimum, monthly newsletters to inform parents of classroom assignments, projects, and class/school events. Some teachers will also use other creative technology tools to stay in touch with parents.
Infinite campus is our new student information system. Parents are able to access information regarding grades, attendance , discipline, etc. Teachers are required to enter final grades in the system as they are assigned. All parents with an active email address should have received an email from Fulton County Schools. with your access code. Please check your spam folder if you did not receive your email. Our school Data Clerk and classroom teachers can assist parents with the access codes for their children. See here for additional information. https://www.fultonschools.org/site/default.aspx?PageType=3&DomainID=4&ModuleInstanceID=7115&ViewID=6446EE88-D30C-497E-9316-3F8874B3E108&RenderLoc=0&FlexDataID=23918&PageID=1
From the district:
ATTENTION FULTON COUNTY SCHOOLS PARENTS: CHECK YOUR EMAIL!
Fulton County Schools is pleased to announce the launch of our new Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This system gives you access to information for all enrolled students in your household including grades, attendance, assignments, and school announcements. But before you can enter the system, you MUST create your Campus Parent account. An email was sent to you on July 10 containing a link to set up your account. Please check your email. If you have not received an email by 7/11/19, please contact the parent call center: campusparent@fultonschools.org.
Safety First!
Thanks for your support during the first week of school! The last few days of drop off were more seamless and traffic is flowing. Thanks for working with us to ensure safety for the students. Remember to bring in your state ID or license when visiting the building. All visitors will be asked to sign at the front desk. Instruction begins at 7:40 each day. Parents are asked to say their goodbyes and exit timely so that we may begin the instructional day.
We still need your patience and support as we execute the morning drop off process. The cafeteria doors close at 7:35 AM each morning. Breakfast ends at that time. Students are tardy at 7:41 AM. Parents are asked to sign their children in and get a tardy pass prior to reporting to class. Parents who wish to walk their child to class must also sign in at the front desk.
Please help us by using the car rider loop in the front of the building for all student drop-offs in the mornings. The car rider loop moves fast but it does require some wait time and patience. This is the safest area for student drop offs. We have assigned staff to support students as they get out of cars. The bus ramp in the back is reserved for buses only. If parents are using the parking lot near the bus ramp area for parking, they are asked to park their vehicles and escort their child into the building. Students should not be dropped off and allowed to run across the bus ramp to enter the building. We want students to be safe. We had a few cars moving fairly fast in this area. This is a safety concern. Remember, the doors open at 7:10 AM for student arrival. Thanks in advance for your support. If we have parents that can volunteer in the bus ramp area, please let us know. We could use the extra hands and eyes to ensure safety for the students.
Thanks for your support!
