Ms. Vanessa's Biweekly Class Update

for the weeks of 5/13 & 5/20

Huge thanks from Ms. Vanessa and Ms. Ruth for teacher appreciation week

They felt the love and they thank you. Last week, parents and kids brought in much needed supplies and books, a poster of the kids, provided items for the staff lunch, made little books of our class (see below for photos), and brought in all of those pretty flowers. It was all very much appreciated.

First Annual Latino Festival at the Assistance League, this Saturday from 4-7pm

There are posters and possibly a sign up sheet (sorry--haven't seen it, but am told it is there) in our classroom about this event. Please check it out and bring something from the list (sounds like food, non alcoholic drinks, help with set up and clean up). You can also contact the coordinator of the event, Noemi Towers:, if you have questions or if you can help. It is a joint event with CWC Hollywood and our campus and sounds like a lot of fun. Bouncy house, music, food, games and more.

Please note: the coffee with principal date has changed

It isn't tomorrow, it is now Thursday, May 23rd from drop off to whenever. See under events.

Sight word progress will continue to be checked through the end of the year. You'll continue to receive an update of where your child is at in their homework folder. Please make sure your child has mastered each list before moving to the next. The goal is to have all words on the lists recognized by sight by the end of the school year. "Sight words mean kids must know words by sight." -Ms. Vanessa.
