Candy Around the World
A Global Explorations Project from NSCDS
NEW! Webinar with Candy Collector Jason Liebig on December 4th
About This Global Project
The Candy Around the World Project is one opportunity in a forthcoming series of Global Exploration projects produced by GEC Co-Founder Lucy Gray. This project is inspired by a recent New York Times Magazine series on candy around the world and we will be studying all aspects candy between now and December 2018 including nutritional and environmental impact aspects.
Here are important details about this project.
- Teachers and students from around the world are invited to join this project at any time between now and December.
- The project runs from November 1, 2018, to December 31, 2018.
- Students from ages 3-18 are welcome to participate (approximately prekindergarten through secondary grade levels).
- Teachers must register and will receive regular updates and reminders.
- Classes do not have to participate in all of the activities. Select which ones best fit your academic goals and schedule.
- Teachers can supplement our planned activities with additional ones of their own choosing. See our resources for ideas.
- The culminating artifacts for this project will be several eBooks containing research, stories, and artwork.
- Additional live activities may be added to the project schedule ( e.g Skype with a dietitian etc.), so stay tuned for updates.
- The hashtag #candyexplorations will be our social media hashtag.
- There is no cost to participate.
