WELCOME TO 2020 PIRATES
WHAT'S YOUR WEATHER?
CELEBRATE QUADRANTS!
Think Habit 3 from The 7 Habits: Put First Things First. Of course you put first things first - you map things out, you break them into parts, and you have a plan of how to get there.. but actually getting there.. that's an entirely different process. This is especially the case when we have interruptions and last minute tasks that make us feel like we have to tend to something that wasn't on our list to begin with. What better way to explore willpower than with the trusty "time quadrants" tool? This tool can be awesome as it can help define focus on how we spend our time and how we organize it according to our goals. It can put what seems like a billion tasks into a prioritized perspective.
If you're interested in using the tool, you can look over some of the descriptors of each quadrant below or use your resources from The Leader In Me materials. Some things to consider while reflecting:
- Where do most of your actions live? Where do you want most of your actions to live?
- Your WIG should be part of Q2! What are your plans and steps to meet it?
- Think about how you spent today - write out some of the actions and add them to the appropriate quadrant. Is this what you set out to do?
- What are some of the ways quadrants can support student choices?
Go get'm Pirates! Achieving goals never felt so good! Arrrgh!
