All Smiles
Mrs. Black and her group of littles took a break from their rodeo tour for me to take a picture of all their smiles.
Field Day
I was so sad to have to miss Field Day. But, the pictures and comments I received as feedback were incredibly positive. Everyone had fun and the weather cooperated! Yahoo! Thank you again if you were here to support your children or help out at one of the stations. We can't do any of these things without your support.
Language Arts
So... what's happening now that we're back in class? In writing we are moving onto to revision and editing next week. We've been writing small moments until we're crazy with them. So, Now it's time to work on getting them ready for "publication". This information will be put to good use as we approach the end of year benchmark coming up in a few works.
In reading we've been concentrating on characters. Character traits. Settings. What is the character thinking and putting yourself in the story. Digging deeper into the story and trying to figure out what the character is feeling and thinking.
Our end of benchmark for reading is also coming up in a few weeks.
Character Dress Up Day
Thursday, April 23rd is our character dress-up day. Each student is asked to dress-up as their favorite character from any book. If you don't have the book at home, let me know and I'll get a copy either from my library or from the school library. It helps to identify who the characters are. The ideal is the KISS method - Keep It Super Simple. A note was sent home in their Thursday folders last week. But, if there are any questions, please let me know. I'll do what I can to help.
