Week 6
SHOUT OUTS
Shout Out to our PTA and teachers for putting together parade details, volunteers for Home Fest and recognizing a convocation (a large group of eagles) of our Soaring Eagles! Unfortunately the parade got rained out, but our PTA Table at the Home Fest carnival was a hit! Kelsey worked hard on a banner (that we will display) and Tim organized our participants. THANK YOU!
Shout Out to Jenna Blaising for working with Ms. Purnell (who is awesome!) to provide lessons and guidance while Denis is out!
Shout Out to our Social Committee for the nice gathering at Applebee's to see Matt off on his newest adventure!

Good news, 3/5 grade levels had higher attendance than last week...bad news, the school total dipped (just a bit). Keep motivating your students to choose EXCELLENCE by coming to school EVERY day!

Staff Focus and Action Items
Commitment to Coherence We have now completed 6 weeks of school. A reminder that we should now be committed to coherence with our foundational curriculums.
- Wonders: (Gr.1-4) We must be using the Close Reading Companion. Weekly assessment must be given online.
- Eureka: (Gr. 2-4) We must be using Edulastic for Eureka end of module assessments
Classroom Observations - Classroom observations will be beginning in the next couple of weeks. I will begin with Unannounced (15-20 minutes, no scheduled meeting). Observations, but will begin scheduling Announced (1 full lesson, scheduled meetings) next month.
Tier I PBIS Calibration - I will be sending out more information this week about looking at coherence to our Tier I PBIS expectations and practices. The vast majority of students are responding to Tier I interventions at this point, so it is a great time to focus on those practices to continue building a strong foundation for student success.
Classroom Game Time - Coach Bailey has put a sign up sheet up in the teacher's lounge for anyone interested to sign up for Classroom Game Time!
Social Emotional Learning Tip of the Week
Visuals - Positivity Pt.1
"Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence" - Helen Keller
Resources & Reminders
Tier I Classroom PBIS - Continue to practice PBIS Tier I at the classroom level. Reach out to the committee for questions or clarification. It is very important that we commit to the process and provide consistency for EVERYONE. We will see the results that we are striving for if everyone is committed to being part of the TEAM!
Social Studies & Reading Support - If you would like me to come in to teach a social studies lesson for your class, please let me know a time, day, and topic that would work. Also, let me know if you would like me to come read a story to your class.
Professional Growth - A couple reminders in regards to professional growth expectations: PGP points should be uploaded into your SFS so that they can be applied to your evaluation; everyone should have a professional learning goal that they have set with Mercedes.
The Safe Schools - Remember to complete your required trainings. Safe Schools Directions & Link (Link to the Login Procedures) The Blood Borne Pathogens training is the first one required.
