Community Resources
SAUSD FACE Newsletter: August 20th , 2021
Dear SAUSD Community,
Hope and unity are the two words that come to mind to describe how I feel about the upcoming school year! It has been so moving to drive by our schools and to see children playing on our playgrounds. It fills my heart with joy to have conversations with our students and hear how excited they are to return and to see their teachers, principals, and friends! I feel so motivated when I see how diligently our staff is working to ensure we provide the most safe, clean, and effective learning environment for our students.
Although I know there is still some uncertainty, I know that together we will figure it out and make the best out of our circumstances. There may times where you need assurance, make sure to reach out to someone you trust at your school or a close colleague. Remember, our passion to ensure our students thrive academically and socio-emotionally unites us and we are better together!
I hope that all of our SAUSD families, students, and staff have an amazing 2021-2022 school year!
Sincerely,
Elisa Briseno Sandoval, MPA

SAUSD Attendance Matters
Please join us in our effort to promote the importance of attendance since we know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your student’s education. We ask that you guide and support your student’s learning by promoting school attendance in the home by:
1) Ensuring student attends school daily, on time, and is ready to learn.
2) Following a consistent bedtime routine ensuring the student gets proper rest and sleep.
3) Removing technology devices to minimize nighttime distractions. If possible, do not have computers or television where the student sleeps.
4) Setting an alarm clock to help your student wake up in the morning.
5) Making sure that student has backpack, Chromebook, and school supplies the night before to ensure an easy transition when leaving the home in the morning.
