Our Raptor Parent Check-In System is updating in January-Important Information

Beginning after Winter Break, we will no longer have Parent/Emergency Contact Driver's License information stored in our Raptor system in the office. Please remember to bring your id when signing out a student, or checking in for a meeting. Our system update will not save any information already in the system. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

Reminder to Pre-K-4th Grade Parents to complete the device form in Tyler

As sent out by Communications Director, Theresa Komitas on December 9th:

We hope this email finds you well! The Technology department is needing some information from all PreK-4th families. In the event your student is asked to participate in temporary distance learning, we have put together a form that asks what resources would be needed for them to be successful while not in the building. The document attached shows the steps required to complete the form in the TylerSIS portal.

Happy Holidays,

SD308 Technology Department

We are Building a Wall at WC!

....a wall of Character that is! We have reinstated our Character Counts tickets here at WC. During the 19-20 SY, we did weekly drawings to announce students and give recognition. We have updated that process to ensure every student who receives a character counts ticket is recognized. We have begun building a Wall of Character on the main staircase bulletin board with each Character Counts ticket that students turn in! After Winter Break, teachers will be reviewing our School Wide Expectations, along with how each Character Pillar can relate to our expectations. We are so proud of the many acts of support and kindness our students show each day here at Wolf's Crossing!

Thank you to Nurse Laura...a note of farewell as she starts a new chapter.

Dear Wolf's Crossing Families,

It is with mixed emotions that I share with you all that I will not be returning to Wolf's Crossing after Winter Break as I have accepted a job offer outside of 308. I will be continuing my career as a school nurse, but at a private therapeutic day school for students ages 3-21 with mild to complex disabilities as well as multiple medical needs. Being at WC for 13+ years has provided me with many opportunities for professional as well as personal growth, and now the time has come to embrace change and branch out with the hopes of becoming an even better nurse. So many amazing students and families have crossed my path in my time at WC and helped mold me into the nurse and individual I am today. For this, I will be forever grateful. While I am excited for what lies ahead, I'm certain a piece of my heart will always remain at WC.

PTA Updates

As we head into winter break and the new year we want to thank all of our families who have been a part of making this a great year for our students! We had a great year hosting an amazing Fun Run event, a chilly but fun Trunk or Treat event, a combined Holiday Shop event, a WC spirit wear shop, and we were able to fulfil classroom grants, provide staff with holiday gifts and a conference meal. We hope everyone has an amazing break with their family and we are excited for all the fun that the new year has in store for our students.

Cold Weather is inevitably heading our way! A few reminders...

As we approach December, I have a cold weather reminder: Please send your child to school with hats, gloves, and even snow pants and boots once it gets snowy....we all know that can happen at a moment's notice in the Chicago area! We will get outside for recess/mask break as long as the "feels like" temperature (factoring air temperature and wind chill) is 10 degrees or above. Also, please practice with little ones to make sure they can put on their snow pants and boots independently.

From All of Us.....

To all of you....Happy Holidays from Wolf's Crossing! We wish each of you a holiday season full of love and laughter. Being able to teach and guide your children, and form partnerships with you is truly the best gift of all!
