The Eagles' Nest
June 2019
From the Principal's Point of View...
We are just days from summer break! Where did the time go? May came and went in a flash. We had the Spring Concert and art show, 4th grade social, Field Day and a host of field trips. All of these events were successful. Thank you to all who attended and volunteered!
We are looking forward to Fun Day and the assemblies at the end of the year! As we approach the summer break, please be sure to notify the office if your child does not plan to return to Eagleville in the fall. We have several exciting events taking place this month. Kindergarten screening is taking place at Eagleville tomorrow and Friday. We will have Fun Day on June 11th (rain or shine). And we want everyone to come out for our final H&S meeting and volunteer celebration on Wednesday evening at 6:30PM. Families of students in Title I should attend also to provide feedback and suggestions for our Title I program. Finally, we will have our end-of-the-year awards assembly on the last day of school, June 14th at 9:30 AM. We have 2:30 early dismissals June 11-13 and 11:30 AM dismissal on the last day, June 14th.
I can hardly believe this is my last Eagleville newsletter. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, once again, for your support over the years. You are truly a wonderful school community. You give so much of yourselves, and I have been blessed to have your children and work with many of you. Like the other years that preceded it, this has been a terrific school year, and that can be attributed to the hard work and concerted efforts of our Eagleville community. Thank you so much for making this school year a success, and thank you for all the support you have given me all year!
As you look toward the summer, I want to update you on some new practices. First, report cards will be available on the parent portal on June 18th. Paper copies will not be sent home. In addition, bus assignments will be posted on the parent portal on August 17th. Post cards will no longer be mailed. Also, please note that it is important for all students spend some time reading and doing math this summer between all the fun at the beach and relaxing with family. Students should work on summer math and keep reading this summer to keep their skills fresh!
Finally, I wish you have a relaxing, enjoyable summer. Please note that Eagleville office will operate under summer hours beginning June 17, 2019. The office will be open 7:00-5:00 Monday- Wednesday; Thursday and 7:00-4:30 and closed on Fridays. We will also be closed for lunch between 12:00-1:00. It is recommended that you call the office before coming over as there will be some days in which the office will be closed when both Mrs. Vitelli and the new principal are out of the office simultaneously. Have a great summer break! Best wishes! Take care!
