Elementary Reports
For English, History, Bible, and Science classes you will have written reports to complete. Here are some tips to help you. :)
Why are reports important?
- Written reports are important because they help you to apply the information you have been learning in your lessons.
- They give you the chance to grow as a writer.
- They allow you to be creative and have choices in what you learn.
What should I include in the written reports?
- Your heading
- Answers to all the questions asked in Ignitia
- Your sources
- Correct spelling and grammar
- The correct number of words (Check the word count requirement.)
What are the parts of the heading?
How should I share my source?
- It is important to share sources so that your teachers can check information if they have any questions.
- Sharing sources also gives the author who wrote the information you used credit for their hard work.
- Many of the projects include a link that has different sources you can use for projects. You can use these links or you can search for other links.
- At the bottom of your project, please share the exact link for the source(s) you used.
How can I check my spelling and grammar?
- One great way to catch errors is for students to read their report out loud to themselves before they submit it.
- When you write your answer in programs such as word, they will usually have spellcheck programs built in.
- You can use online programs such as Grammarly to get feedback on your work before you submit it.
- If you click the submit answer button before you turn in a question or report in a writer's box, then it will show you many of your errors in red. You can make corrections and then turn in the report.
