Mrs. Matasovsky‘s experience includes being an Assistant Principal at Franklin Central High School and also an Assistant Principal at Hamilton Southeastern High School. Priority and Open Textbook Pick-Up

Franklin Central will offer 4 different days in which devices and textbooks can be picked up. The first opportunity will be July 17th-18th from 7-3. These days are designated as priority pick-up, which simply means you will book your time slot prior to coming. This guarantees a shorter line, as only 100 families per hour will be here. Appointments will be accepted on a first come first serve basis, and will be available for booking starting July 8th.


Open Textbook and device pick-up will be July 22nd -23rd from 1-7. All grade levels are welcome to attend on either of the days. No appointment will be needed on these nights.


DEVICES AND TEXTBOOKS WILL NOT BE AVAIL ABLE FOR PICK-UP ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. It is vitally important that every student attends a textbook/device pick-up meeting.


***You must bring your device with you (whether it is a rental or personally owned) to textbook pick-up. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PICK-UP YOUR SCHEDULE WITHOUT A DEVICE WITH YOU!!

Schedules

Schedules will be available at textbook pick-up on the days listed above, and textbook rental statements will be posted to Infinite Campus on our around July 12th.


Schedules will not be mailed as in years past, and can either be obtained during textbook pick-up or via Infinite Campus on or after July 29th. Schedules will also be available on the first day of school in your student's homeroom.


Students and parents are reminded that schedules will only be changed due to error or lack of prerequisites. Changes of mind, teacher requests and lunch changes cannot be honored. Students will have an opportunity to reports any errors to the Guidance department during textbook/device pickup.

Fees

Textbook rental fees can be paid at Textbook pick up by cash or check. If you plan to pay with a credit card please pay online through RevTrak prior to textbook pick up. Textbook Rental Statements are for first semester only. Second semester statements will be issued in January.


****REVTRAK WILL NOT REFLECT CURRENT FEES UNTIL JULY 12TH. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ACCESS THE SYSTEM BEFORE THEN.

Schedule Changes

Schedules will be available at Textbook/Device Pick-Up and via Infinite Campus after July 29th.


At this point, the only schedule changes that are allowed are due to errors or to drop a course for a study hall. Students enrolled in seven courses may drop one course for a study hall during the first five days of each semester without grade penalty. Students are not allowed to drop an AP or Pre-AP class for a study hall.


Any errors or requests to drop a course for a study hall should be directed to the student's counselor via email or phone call and requests to drop a course for a study hall must be approved by parent or guardian.

Senate Bill 65

Franklin Township Community School Corporation

Senate Enrolled Act 65 – Instruction on Human Sexuality (IC 20-30-5-17)


The Indiana General Assembly has passed legislation that allows parents to “opt out” of instruction regarding human sexuality. This legislation also requires the school corporation to make available for inspection to a parent all of the instructional materials used in connection with the instruction on human sexuality.


As per Senate Enrolled Act 65, the school is required to send two notices allowing parents to either consent or decline instruction on a specific topic dealing with human sexuality. This is the first notice.

Returning Student Registration

If you have a student that is currently enrolled in a FTCSC school and will be returning for the 2019-2020 school year, please register your student for the 2019-2020 school year. Please follow the steps in the attached document. The first day for the 2019-2020 school year is Thursday, August 1st.

Student Not Returning to Franklin Central

Any student not returning to Franklin Central in the fall for the school year 2019 - 2020 needs to come into school or contact Debbie Sandberg at 317.803.5544 to complete the withdrawal process. This will enable students to register at a new school.

Parking Permits

Parking permits will be available starting the third week in July. The cost of the permit is $10 and available to any Junior or Senior with a 2.0 GPA. No Sophomores will be granted a permit.

Supply Lists

The high school does not have a set supply list. Please purchase the basics to start the school year: pens, pencils, a couple of notebooks, and a couple of folders. Your student's teachers will let them know what supplies they will need, for their specific classes, on the first day of school.


*Note: There are some math classes that require a Graphing Calculator. Please see the COURSE CATALOG for additional details.

Central Nine

Beginning August 1st, students attending Central Nine are required to report to the FCHS performing arts entrance by 7:00 am for C9 check-in. It is mandatory for all Franklin Central students who attend C9 to ride the bus to and from the C9 campus every day. Students are not permitted to drive to or from C9 under any circumstances. If a student misses the shuttle, he/she will report to FCHS Media Center to avoid an unexcused absence. Failure to follow this policy will result in suspension from school, driver’s parking permit revoked, and/or removal from C9.


  • Students driving to the high school need to obtain a parking pass. Forms are available in the main office of the high school. The cost for a parking pass is $10.


  • Students who will be riding a bus to the high school will be placed on a middle school route. It is imperative that you check the time and place of the middle school route pickup as high school routes will not arrive in time to make the C9 shuttle. Athletic Information

Athletic physicals are due in the athletic office prior to summer workouts. Physicals must be on the official IHSAA form, which can be found on the athletic website - FCFlashes.com. Physicals must be dated after April 1, 2019 to be valid.


Summer workouts have begun for 2019-20. Please contact the varsity coach for times and locations of workouts. They can be found on the FCFlashes.com website.


First day of practice for Fall Sports will be August 5th, with the exception of golf which begins August 2nd.

Clubs and Activities

Are you interested in robotics, art, knitting, learning Japanese or just about anything co-curricular? You are in luck - Franklin Central has many clubs that you can join. See the attached list! More information will be provided the first weeks of school.

Clinic News

For those students with chronic health conditions, there are action plans located on the district’s website: https://ftcsc.org

  • Click on Health Services

  • Click on Health Services forms which is on the right.

  • Located here are consent to treat forms, health forms, and permission forms for medications.

  • There is a self-carry medication form for inhalers and epi-pens that the physician must complete.

  • Lastly, there are action plans for asthma, seizures, life-threatening food allergies, other allergies, and diabetes..


If your student has an appointment over the summer, please take with you to have the physician complete for the upcoming school year.

COMMUNITY HEALTH CONSENTS

  • These documents must be updated each school year. They are provided electronically as a part of the online registration process for both existing students and new enrollments and should be completed prior to the start of the school year. Students must have a consent to treat signed by a parent or guardian to be seen in the school nurse clinic. All students will be treated in the case of an emergency.

ATTENTION parents of senior students for upcoming 2019-2020 School Year:

  • Students entering the 12th grade are required to have an additional dose of the Meningococcal immunization-to equal two doses-prior to the start of school.

  • Seniors are also required to have 2 doses of Hepatitis A.


It is recommended that Seniors have 2 doses of Meningitis B and HPV as well-please discuss these with your healthcare provider.Please contact your student’s doctor as soon as possible so that your student’s immunizations are up to date prior to the start of school. The availability of appointments diminishes greatly as the school year approaches. The Marion County Health Department’s phone number is 317-221-5700, and offers appointments throughout the week. Other resources include Community Med Check locations and Community Clinic at Walgreens. If you do not have a primary physician, or need assistance in finding one, please contact your school nurse for resources.
