Remember- No School on Monday!
IStation & i-Ready Testing Reminder
Students will be participating in the Istation and i-Ready testing at the Owl's Nest, starting in September. The Istation assesses their reading skills and the i-Ready tests their math skills. Once students have completed these assessments, they will be able to log in to these programs to practice their reading and math skills at their independent levels. This will be one of the required tasks for Fridays once we get students tested. Don't worry, teachers will communicate their expectations about this with students and parents once it's time to start practicing independently. For now, the first step is to take the assessments. Below is the schedule for testing at the Owl's Nest in September:

Testing windows are scheduled for two-hour blocks. Students will not spend the entire time testing, however. The teacher will have an enrichment activity planned that will take place after the test or during breaks (the i-Ready tests will be split into 3 segments, so students will have breaks throughout the window with enrichment activities).
Procedures for Drop-Off & Pick-Up:
- Bring your child to the front office at Linden Park Elementary five minutes prior to the start of your testing window. You will have to ring the bell and the someone in the office will let you in. Make sure that your child checks in with the front office and gets a badge to wear. The teacher will greet students at the front office and walk them down to the Owl's Nest in A16 at the start of their testing window.
- Parents are welcome to accompany students down the hall to the Owl's Nest to drop them off. Then, parents will be expected to return to Linden Park after the testing window is over. At the end of the testing window, teachers will escort students to the front of the building, where they can be picked up at the front of the building. Please use the parent drop-off/pick-up lane.
If you have any questions or concerns about testing, please contact your teacher. Please be assured that we have scheduled our testing windows to help minimize the number of students in the Owl's Nest at a given time. Plus, we will do our best to social distance students once in the Owl's Nest Learning Lab.

Academic Integrity!- A Message to Students
Academic Integrity is one of the most important areas of focus for your school. All students and parents are expected to uphold Academic Integrity during the learning process. What is Academic Integrity and how do you uphold it?
- Learning requires exercising your brain muscles. The more you try on your own, the stronger your brain muscles will grow.
- Do your own work without the help of others. Your hard work and effort will pay off.
- Academic Honesty means the work you submit is created by you and is your own original work.
- Do not copy, borrow, or the use the work of other people or from the Internet.
Guiding Instead Of Doing
Chances are you will need your parent or learning coach to help you with some activities in your course. This could be as simple as asking for help when you download and print a worksheet, asking the meaning of a word in a lesson, or help with staying organized.
Keep in mind, learning can be hard work and require a lot of effort on your part. Your parent or learning coach is there to encourage and guide you, but not complete your work for you. It is your responsibility to figure out your own answers.
Your teacher wants to see your independent work for all assessments in the course. The independent work you submit shows what you have learned and helps guide your instruction in the course. You can resubmit work you wish to improve based on the feedback your teacher provides.
Be "Owl"some and have Academic Integrity!
