Principal Walder's Monday Memo
For the week of May 18
WE DID IT!!! Wahoo!!
During our staff meeting Friday morning, it was with GREAT JOY that I shared with all of you just a few of the INNOVATIVE and CREATIVE instructional practices I saw in the online classroom. I could have gone around and around our building describing each of your classrooms and instructional practices, but no words can describe the collaborative effort and hard work each of you added that was unseen. Please know that it is recognized as well.
As I said before, we do not know what the next school year will bring. What I do know is that our team has what it takes to support all of our students and each other!!
Information on Student Item Exchange Days:
I look forward to finally, really "seeing" each of you next week! Please check the link to review when you signed up. Sign Up Sheet Link
Make sure to fill out the TASD Health Screen before you enter. Here is the link.
We will be starting our first item exchanges at 7:00 am. If you can be here about 10- 15 minutes before your shift, that would be helpful to avoid parking lot congestion (especially for the first shift). If you are coming into a second or third shift, when you arrive, please just find a colleague to relieve.
Here is the link to the document we reviewed on Friday. If you have any questions, please call or text to let me know. Thank you! --Samantha
ACTION ITEM: Room Maps/ Furniture Requests
Some teachers have asked to change out furniture items from their classrooms. Items are issued to rooms in case of expanding sections, even if they are not currently occupied. Please do not just go take items from another classroom as Wayne and I may be counting on a room being ready for an extra section, should the need arise. We never know how move-ins and shifts may occur over the summer. This is Tea Area!
The purpose of this message is for the purpose of submitting Legacy Room Maps and Furniture Requests.
- If you do not see any changes right now and do not need support in moving/ arranging furniture, you do not need to submit a map.
- If you do not submit a map, the moveable furniture will most likely be left in the middle of the room by custodians.
- If you are requesting anything different or requesting for large furniture (desks, file cabinets) to be moved in your classroom, you will submit a copy of your map digitally (to avoid paper exchanges). If you need help with this or only had a paper copy drawn out, please let me know and I can work with you.
- Here is a link to a Google Folder to upload the Map. (This folder is also linked on the Staff Resource Hub.)
- As you know, in the chaos of summer cleaning, maps can get lost if only taped in the front of the room. It worked pretty well last summer shifting a lot of furniture when we had an easily-accessible digital copy.
We cannot guarantee everything, but we will do our best to accommodate your requests.
Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale (Repeat Inf0)
At the start of the school year, all teachers answered a questionnaire designed to help us gain a better understanding of the kinds of things that create difficulties for teachers in their school activities.
Please indicate your opinions about each of the statements below by selecting the appropriate number. Your answers will be kept confidential and the survey is anonymous. This self-efficacy scale is for use with our 19-20 Building Goal. Thank you!
