What to Expect during Pregnancy

First Trimester (Months 1-3)
The Mom carries 23 chromosomes
When the Mother hits the Implantation stage the Baby is in the placenta and it starts to form.
Baby: The sperm and egg unite in one of the Fallopian Tubes to form zygote
A zygote has 46 chromosomes
The baby carries 23 chromosomes from the father, this will help determine how how the baby would look and what its gender is.
The babies body will begin to form during the 5th week, the embryonic period.
Second Trimester (Months 4-6)
Baby: Baby skeleton begins to form, is about 3 1/2 inches long and the baby weighs about 1 1/2 ounces and it gains the ability to hear and it starts to kick and flutter.
Third Trimester (Months 7-9)
Baby: The baby can blink its eyes and start to grow its fingernails, toenails, and it has a head full of hair and during the full term the baby, can get up to 7 pounds and grow more than 19 inches long.
